Over the years the back of the garage has become the dumping ground for anything we don't want to throw out but want to keep out of sight. Now that we are back we decided to put this space to some good use. This weekend we got working on fixing up the area and putting it to some good use.
We were inspired to get chickens after a visit to Charles and Biz's very productive poultry farm in downtown San Jose. Here is the welcoming committee in his back yard.
As we live in a semi rural area, just about every pest can be found here including foxes, coyotes, red tailed hawks, possums and raccoons. Therefore the trench is to bury a wire cage to protect the chucks from vermin.
