Martha and Damien Visit California

Martha and Damien came to visit a little while ago.  Unfortunately due to a biking accident right before traveling and a skiing accident some time ago Damien's adventures were limited to driving tours in the Murphy/O'leary ambulance.  At least Martha got some mountain biking in.

Wilder Ranch
 Saratoga Gap Trail
We took the requisite trip to San Francisco to see the sights.
The San Francisco cable car followed by Irish coffees at the Buena Vista.  (over rated but Damien was happy to see they were using Tullamore Dew whiskey).
Sealions relaxing in the afternoon sun on Pier 39.  Future home of the America's cup race.
It was nice having guests, we managed to score a lot of free dinners
Nick and Sue were perfect hosts for dinner, paying back for the dinners enjoyed in 56 St. Theresa's road several years ago. Buster the cat  making a break for the food
Dinner at Adrian and Catherine's with a bonus visit from Kathleen Dillon.
Martha Stewart (a.k.a Sheila Brennan) shows off her home made cheesecake

Martha's next bike?
We took a driving tour down California Highway 1 and visited the Monterey Bay aquarium on the way.
The exhibits are stunning.
Hard to believe this is a seahorse
A well deserved siesta after having spent the morning looking at fish.
The Lone Cypress on 17 mile drive
Sunset and sunrise on Carmel State beach
The Mission Carmel
Martha and Damien catch up on their prayers in the chapel garden

Bixby Bridge on California Highway 1
Martha and Damien - guests at the Hearst Castle
The neptune pool at Hearst castle made a nice relaxation spot for an hour
The coastal fog rolled in while we napped by the pool so when we got down to sea level it was down to minimal visibility.
Elephant seals with their young pups on the coastline
Martha's animal attraction is irresistible to Tiny and Buddy at Mark and Jo's house
